John J. Richard is the co-chair of the firm’s Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy practice group and has extensive experience in working with troubled loans and guiding banks and lending institutions through the workout, special-asset litigation and foreclosure process.
Mr. Richard counsels national, regional and community banks throughout the Southeast, as well as the FDIC, on loan restructuring, workouts, troubled-asset management and recovery of fraudulent transfers.
Mr. Richard also represents receivers appointed to take financial and physical control of assets and ongoing businesses.
In addition to his creditors’ rights work, Mr. Richard focuses his litigation practice on business divorce, shareholder and partnership disputes, business fraud, and complex collections and financial disputes.
Mr. Richard also advises clients on an ongoing basis regarding various methods of avoiding litigation and making litigation more efficient and effective when it is necessary.
