John I. Sanders focuses his practice on business and finance, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Sanders worked with the firm in its Investment Management and Corporate Law group as a summer associate in 2015 where he assisted with formation, regulatory filings, and corporate governance of public investment companies, private investment funds, and investment advisors.
Mr. Sanders was a summer associate in 2014 at a law firm located in Milan, Italy in its Commercial Law practice where he worked under a partner as he executed mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and private placements for international clients.
While attending law school, Mr. Sanders was a staff member of the Wake Forest Law Review and was a Research Assistant to Professor Andrew Verstein as he explored the intersection of law and finance.
Prior to launching his legal career, Mr. Sanders worked for over six years at The Vanguard Group in Charlotte, North Carolina in its Retail Investor Group.
Mr. Sanders first served as a Stock Broker, then as a Brokerage Manager leading efforts to improve ETF use among retail investors and revitalize the firm’s $250 billion institutional brokerage unit by writing new policies and procedures, recruiting new brokers, and overseeing daily activity.
Previously, Mr. Sanders worked seasonally for two years as an Internal Auditor at Founders Federal Credit Union in Lancaster, South Carolina.
Mr. Sanders is fluent in Italian.
