Jon Ruiss Jr. is a senior associate with Alston & Bird’s Finance Group. Jon works with investment banks and other financial institutions in connection with a wide variety of secured financings, including the purchase and sale of residential, commercial, and multifamily mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, single-family rental properties, and other mortgage assets.
He focuses his practice on a variety of financing transactions, including warehouse lines and syndicated financing transactions. Before joining the firm, Jon represented lenders in connection with various secured financings, including asset-based lending, equipment finance, and commercial factoring arrangements.
In addition to his law practice, Jon is a certified public accountant. Before attending law school, Jon worked as an accountant at Grant Thornton. As an auditor, his clients ranged from financial institutions to large not-for-profit entities receiving significant federal funding.
Currently, Jon serves on the board of directors of Transitional Services of New York for Long Island and Haven House/Bridges, a not-for-profit organization that provides housing and support for low-income individuals and mentally ill adults.
