Jon Neumann is an experienced litigator who helps clients solve diverse complex disputes in federal and state courts throughout the country and in varied domestic and international arbitral forums. Jon regularly helps clients with matters involving contract claims and business torts, as well as real estate and environmental matters.
In addition, Jon helps insurers resolve declaratory judgment actions and other civil litigation involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, bad faith, coverage, and punitive damage claims. His practice includes representing insurers in complex coverage disputes; class actions involving institutional bad faith claims, national insurance claim-handling programs and computerized evaluation tools; providing coordinating counsel services for the national defense of institutional claim-handling programs; offering counseling services to help insurers avoid litigation and minimize bad-faith exposure; and giving advice for managing an efficient and fair claim-handling operation.
In the reinsurance realm, Jon helps reinsurers and retrocessionaires solve complex disputes involving a broad range of issues, including actuarial modeling and other damage assessments, allocation, ratification, rescission, the duty of utmost good faith, underwriting, mergers and acquisitions, the purchase and sale of blocks of business, and other matters related to the retrocession of risk through reinsurance treaties and other risk-transfer arrangements.
Jon has represented managed care entities and administrators in all aspects of insurance litigation including contractual and extra-contractual disputes with providers and hospitals, prompt pay litigation, insurance fraud and medical liability claims.
