These include Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney for Financial Matters, Designations of Patient Advocates and Durable Powers of Attorney for Health Care, Living Wills, DNRs, Authorizations for Use and Disclosure of Protected Health Information under HIPAA, Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements, Trusts (Single, Joint, Tax Planning Revocable Trusts, Pet Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts) and Trust funding documents.
Probate and Trust Administration: Jay represents personal representatives during the administration of a decedent’s probate estate and trustees during the administration of a decedent’s trust.
Business Entity Selection, Organization and Planning: Jay helps clients determine and document the right structure or model for their business, whether as a sole proprietorship, partnership, limited liability company or corporation.
General Business: Jay provides general counsel to businesses. He negotiates and drafts contracts, agreements and applications for a variety of corporate needs. This includes buy and sell agreements, beer, wine and liquor licenses, and merger and acquisition transactions.
Non-Profit Entities: Jay helps in the formation, governance and management of non-profit organizations.
Commercial and Residential Real Estate: Jay prepares purchase agreements, conveyancing documents, mortgage and security documents, leases and other real estate-related documents.
In addition to his practice, Jay is a published author on estate planning issues. He regularly contributes a question-and-answer column through a national news service for senior publications, as well as a regional print and online publication. He has also written and published Estate Planning: The Basicsand Estate Planning: What You Need to Know.
