Jordan S. O’Donnell primarily advises clients in the consumer financial services industry. He also represents professionals in liability matters. Armed with experience in all phases of the litigation process—from drafting motions and discovery to conducting depositions and trying cases—Jordan ensures his clients are informed each step of the way.
Further, he protects their interests by analyzing settlement possibilities and developing and implementing tailored litigation strategies.
In the field of consumer financial services, Jordan represents mortgage lenders and servicers in complex litigation involving loan origination and servicing, including allegations of wrongful foreclosure, violation of consumer protection statutes, and disputes regarding the enforcement of liens.
He also defends student loan servicers in litigation and arbitration matters nationwide facing allegations of consumer protection violations, including those involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). He is also well versed in numerous state statutes, including the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act.
Jordan also has experience in real estate litigation, assisting lenders and property owners in resolving title defects and title claims. He also advises and represents lawyers, and other professionals, in professional liability matters.
Jordan has litigated numerous cases involving premises liability, product liability, insurance coverage and indemnification disputes, and breach of contract. Prior to joining Hinshaw, Jordan was an associate at a regional trial and business law firm headquartered in Boston.
After graduating from law school, he served as a judicial clerk in the New Jersey Office of Foreclosure, working with a chancery judge and in the administrative office of the courts on mortgage-related and other commercial litigation.
During law school, Jordan interned in the Appellate Division of the Union County (New Jersey) Prosecutor’s Office; the Major Economic Crimes Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office; and the Administrative Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
In addition to his other law school accomplishments, Jordan served as a staff writer for the Uniform Commercial Code Reporter-Digest in his second year of law school, and as its Managing Editor in his third year.
