Jordan Segall

Jordan D. Segall is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson. His recent matters include:

• Representing online retailers in proceedings regarding compliance of e-commerce websites with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Defending a major motion picture studio against multiple claims of copyright infringement related to the same globally successful animated motion picture, including two federal appeals.
• Representing two motion picture studios in a class action related to the payment of royalties on home video receipts.
• Drafting a U.S. Supreme Court amicus brief on behalf of Intel Corp. and Dell Inc. in a case involving the proper scope of the special venue statute for patent infringement lawsuits.
• Representing a spinal implant manufacturer in an arbitration proceeding against an Australian distributor alleging that the manufacturer breached the terms of a distribution agreement.

Outside of the firm, Mr. Segall serves on the Finance Committee of Villa Esperanza Services in Pasadena. Before joining the firm, Mr. Segall clerked for Judges Richard A. Paez and Dorothy W. Nelson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Segall graduated from Stanford Law School, where he was the distinguished senior editor of the Stanford Law Review as well as an associate editor of the Stanford Law & Policy Review.

He was the recipient of the American Justice Institute Criminal Essay Prize for “An Age of Perpetual Punishment: the Life Sentence in Contemporary and Historical Perspective.” He was also president of the Stanford Entertainment and Sports Law Association. Mr. Segall received his M.A. and B.A. with honors in history from the University of Chicago.
