Joseph L. Bearden is an associate attorney at Meriwether & Tharp, LLC. He earned his Juris Doctor at Emory University School of Law in 2016 and his bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science at Tulane University in 2013.
Born and raised in Calhoun, Georgia, Joe grew up in the world of family law, with his Father serving as a Juvenile Court Judge and his Aunt practicing law with a focus on divorce cases.
Once in law school, Joe spent two years competing in, and coaching for, the Georgia Intrastate Moot Court Competition, which helped him develop the strategic and analytical skills necessary to go above and beyond for those he represents.
Having passed the Georgia Bar Examination in 2016, Joe interned with Chief Justice P. Harris Hines of the Georgia Supreme Court before coming to work for Meriwether & Tharp, LLC in the fall of 2017.
Joe currently lives in Decatur, Georgia and enjoys creative writing, listening to his vinyl record collection, and homebrewing beer and mead.
