    Excellent Attorney and Staff Representation in my Divorce Trial

    I highly recommend any one with a complicated divorce to speak to Mr. Gufford. I had 31 year marriage. Unfortunately, I was in a car accident in 2008 which left me with severe physical infirmities. Fortunately, I had the foresight to have a private disability policy and UM coverage so that if anything happened to me I could support my family. Unfortunately, I used my settlement proceeds to invest in several pieces of property that I jointly titled in my Wife’s name in case I died. The settlement proceeds were to supposed to support me for the rest of my life. I never thought that my wife would ever divorce me. The other lawyer that I consulted with told me that I was basically screwed on the properties and would have to pay alimony to her. Joe and his assistant Donna Milano thought otherwise. They did their best to settle the case without going to a trial. But, all offers were refused and we went to trial for 2 days in St. Lucie County. During the trial, my wife claimed that she couldn’t work due to physical problems that she never disclosed prior to the trial. She also pretended to not speak English, which she speaks and understands fluently to get sympathy from the Judge. She also did not work “on the books” for most of the marriage. Mr. Gufford did an excellent cross- examination of my Wife and proved my case up to the very last detail. At the end of the day, I received the vast majority of the assets and was not ordered to pay any alimony. Mr. Gufford imputed income to my Wife based upon her earning capacity. After the trial was over, both lawyers had to submit proposed Final Judgments to the Court. The Judge largely used the proposed Final Judgment prepared by Mr. Gufford rather than the simplistic one sent by the other side. The Final Judgment was 36 pages long. Thanks to Joe and Donna for their excellent work. Without them at my side, I would have been in a very poor position.

    Mr. Gufford and his staff have the legal and administrative expertise to leave no stone unturned when examining your case. He and his staff make themselves available at virtually every hour of the day and always return calls and emails in a timely manner. Mr. Gufford is not only experienced in family law but civil matters as well. This breadth of knowledge is important as he can provide valuable legal insight that other lawyers simply cannot.

    Top Notch Divorce and Family Law Attorney!!!

    Joseph Gufford and his staff have represented me in numerous family law and civil matters well over a decade. In the civil cases, Mr. Gufford was instrumental in achieving victory after victory against some of biggest firms in Martin County. His knowledge of the law is extraordinary and his staff always follows up on phone calls and emails in a timely manner. In one of the family law matters, it involved an undisclosed professional sports pension that my previous counsel failed to discover. Once again, Mr. Gufford rose to the occasion and filed a motion to set aside the final judgment based upon the non-disclosure of this very significant asset. If you know anything about this issue, it is extremely difficult to set aside a Final Judgment. Mr. Gufford was ultimately victorious in this task and I am forever grateful to him and his awesome staff. I got my fair share of the pension and Mr. Gufford worked with MLB to get the QDRO done properly.

    Top Notch Family Law Attorney

    Mr. Gufford has represented me for well over a decade in both civil matters and family law matters. In my family law case, my previous lawyer failed to check out my Husband’s professional sports pension and a final judgment was entered. Later, I learned that my ex did have a pension. Mr. Gufford pulled off the impossible and hit the Final Judgment set aside and I got my fair share of the pension. Joe and his staff were very attentive to my case and always retuned phone calls and emails.

    Did not represent

    This “representative” knowingly and willfully failed to present critical videographic evidence of children disclosing abuse to police in a child custody case. Shame on you Joe. I pray God has mercy on your soul, I don’t. To anyone considering this unethical lawyer; turn and run away as fast as you can.

      Response to William

      A lawyer’s duty to keep client confidences has few exceptions and in an abundance of caution I do not feel at liberty to respond in a point by point fashion in this forum. Suffice it to say that I do not believe that the post presents a fair and accurate picture of the events. Clearly, from the post, one can discern that: 1. “Police interviews” were conducted;
      2. That law enforcement had “critical videographic evidence” in their possession during the case. Obviously, if all of this is assumed to be true, then criminal charges should have been brought by the proper authorities if the evidence was sufficient to bring such charges. To be fair, for criminal charges to be brought, law enforcement must believe that they can prove the case “beyond a reasonable doubt”, as I call it the 99% standard. However, in civil cases, the standard that the judge uses is a much lower one, “tipping the scales of justice” as I call it the 51% standard. Thus, it can adduced that the Judge, applying a much lower standard of evidence, did not believe that the evidence was sufficient to meet that much lower standard. I am sorry that the poster feels that me and my staff failed his family. We did no such thing. I would suggest to the poster that if he wishes to air these issues in a public forum that he should share the orders of the Court with the public so that they can read the full decision and what was presented and what was not. However, I doubt that the poster wishes to do that. Rather, he wishes to air his grievances in the public square without the public being fully informed of all of the facts and circumstances; most importantly, what the judge thought about that evidence.”

      I HOPE YOU FIND PEACE IN YOUR LIFE

      A lawyer’s duty to keep client confidences has few exceptions and in an abundance of caution I do not feel at liberty to respond in a point by point fashion in this forum. Suffice it to say that I do not believe that the post presents a fair and accurate picture of the events. Clearly, from the post, one can discern that there was video-graphic evidence of children disclosing abuse to police. That being said, then one must wonder why the police just didn’t arrest the perpetrator of said abuse and thus, CASE CLOSED. I am very comfortable with my relationship with God and that when I am judged by him, he will have mercy on my soul. I’m certainly not asking for any mercy from the poster but I do hope that he finds peace in his life.
