Joseph E. Kasegian is an associate in the Corporate Department and a member of the Private Funds Group. He has a general corporate practice with an emphasis on representing private investment fund sponsors in the structuring and capital-raising stages, and provides ongoing advice to fund sponsors on fund-related matters.
Sponsors Joseph recently has represented include venture capital, growth equity and buyout funds, as well as funds of funds, secondary funds and co-investment funds.
Joseph also represents alternative asset investors, including corporate pension plans, funds of funds and secondary funds, in their venture capital and private equity investments.
In addition, he has experience in transactional matters such as private investment fund secondary purchases and is knowledgeable regarding U.S. securities, investment company and investment adviser regulation.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Joseph worked for the Rhode Island General Assembly. He assisted the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives with the research, development and publicity of policy initiatives.
