Joseph (Jay) Buller is a seasoned commercial litigator who defends business clients in trials, arbitrations, and appeals in Georgia and throughout the United States with a unique focus on banking and real estate litigation. Mr. Buller has deep experience in both the financial services industry and in general litigation involving real estate.
Mr. Buller has deep experience in the defense of financial institutions and loan servicers. He successfully defended hundreds of claims asserting wrong foreclosure and violations of federal consumer protection statutes, including the FDCPA, TILA, RESPA, FCRA, and the TCPA.
Mr. Buller responds to inquiries from state and federal regulators and prepares oppositions to regulatory complaints. He also counsels his clients in best practices to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Mr. Buller prosecutes and defends cases concerning business torts, breaches of contract, real estate disputes, title to real property, theft of trade secrets, landlord-tenant issues, insurance disputes, and general liability claims.
Mr. Buller has first chair experience in bench trials, evidentiary hearings, and arbitrations and frequently leads litigation discovery and coordinates complex e-discovery projects. In appellate matters, Jay has drafted numerous appellate merits briefs for state and federal courts and has presented oral argument the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia.
