Julie Murphy represents management clients in general labor and employment matters in state and federal court proceedings, as well as before administrative agencies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board and the Department of Employment and Training.
Ms. Murphy also assists clients in drafting employment agreements, handbooks and policies, and regularly provides day-to-day advice to clients on a full spectrum of employment related issues, including compliance with state and federal discrimination laws, wage and hour compliance, disciplinary actions and reductions in force.
She also works with clients on traditional labor matters, including union avoidance strategies and union organizational campaigns. Prior to rejoining the firm, Ms. Murphy was a consultant on employment-related issues and a conflicts attorney for another large law firm in Boston, where she counseled partners regarding issues involving conflicts of interest and rules of professional responsibility.
Ms. Murphy was previously a member of WilmerHale’s Labor and Employment practice from 2002 to 2011. Ms. Murphy is a member of the American Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association.
