Justice Barber is an associate in the Atlanta office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Ms. Barber’s practice focuses on representing institutional investors, developers, lenders and private fund sponsors in connection with the acquisition, disposition, development, leasing and financing of office, industrial, retail, senior care, multifamily and other real estate assets.
Ms. Barber provides counsel regarding the structuring and formation of partnerships, limited liability companies, joint ventures and corporations for the purpose of owning, developing and managing various real estate assets. Her practice also includes guiding clients in connection with private merger and general corporate governance matters.
In addition to representing her clients in their core real estate transactions, she also works with clients to develop transactional processes and forms to maximize efficiency and improve outcomes for her clients. Ms. Barber has advised fund sponsors in connection with REIT compliance and offering matters as well as with the structuring, formation and ongoing operations of private investment funds concerning a variety of asset classes, including residential, office and industrial properties in various geographic locations.
In addition, she has assisted private equity investors with reviewing and negotiating the terms of their investments. Ms. Barber has counseled clients active in the real estate capital markets with respect to secondary transactions, unregistered securities offerings, and compliance issues regarding the Securities Act of 1933, the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Advisers Act of 1940.
Ms. Barber received her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia. Ms. Barber is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Commercial Real Estate Women Network and the Atlanta Bar Association. She also serves on the Board of Zoning Appeals for the City of Marietta.
