Justin L. Siebel has joined Weitz & Luxenberg’s highly motivated and skilled Mesothelioma and Asbestos Practice litigation unit. Mr. Siebel felt an immediate connection, he said, to Weitz & Luxenberg and its culture of “working toward the greater good and fighting for what is right on behalf of clients who have been harmed by the actions of large corporations.”
“It just feels right,” he said. “Everyone on the Mesothelioma and Asbestos litigation team is working toward the same goal — to secure justice for victims of asbestos exposure and their families.” Like his colleagues, Mr. Siebel is committed to making a real difference in people’s lives.
In the case of mesothelioma, that means bringing some kind of justice to families whose lives were irreparably and irrevocably harmed. .
Mesothelioma and other lung diseases, such as asbestosis, are particularly disturbing to witness firsthand. Like all degenerative lung diseases, asbestos exposure illnesses ravage the lungs making breathing more and more difficult.
Mr. Siebel brings to Weitz & Luxenberg the principles, values, and skills essential for attorneys assigned to our Mesothelioma and Asbestos litigation unit. Before joining our team, Mr. Siebel worked in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office for six years. While there, he conducted interviews with witnesses; investigated, analyzed, and presented cases before a grand jury; and tried dozens of misdemeanor and felony trials to verdict..
The highly personal nature of taking client depositions is similar in ways to conducting interviews for criminal cases and preparing witnesses to testify at trial, he says, but “you find yourself more personally involved in your clients’ lives. You really feel for them and want to do everything legally possible to help them and their families.”
While studying at the Fordham University School of Law, Mr. Siebel received both the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award. He also served as associate editor for the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law.
He earned his J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law in 2010 and his B.F.A. in 2004 from New York University.
