Jyoti Mittal represents employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters, including at the administrative level, defending against discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, unfair competition, theft of trade secrets, and wage and hour claims.
She has considerable experience advising and representing public clients, including hospitals, in Cal-OSHA investigations and actions. Jyoti also represents private clients in labor arbitrations, where her experience includes interviewing witnesses, preparing witnesses for examination, examining client witnesses, and conducting cross-examinations of union witnesses.
In addition to Jyoti’s litigation work, she assists clients by researching and counseling in the complex area of wage and hour and leave laws, including drafting compliant wage and hour policies and meal period waivers. Her services also include drafting employee handbooks, conducting human resources audits, and assisting in remediation efforts to cut off future liability.
Prior to joining Littler, Jyoti worked at a full service law firm where she focused her practice on general litigation and corporate matters, such as defending public clients against actions brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
During law school, Jyoti was on the Editorial Board of the Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice, a member of USC’s Jessup Moot Court Team, and a Student Scholar in the Saks Institute for Mental Health Law, Policy, and Ethics. She also served as an extern to the Hon. Dean D. Pregerson, U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
