Kai-Ching Cha advises and represents a wide variety of employers in a broad range of employment law matters in state and federal courts and before the Equal Opportunity Commission, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. She has defended employers against claims involving :
- Wrongful discharge
- Wage and hour laws under the California Labor Code and the Fair Labor Standards Act
- Discrimination and harassment based on sex, disability and age under the Fair Employment and Housing Act and Title VII.
Kai-Ching also has experience in defending wage and hour class actions. For example, Kai-Ching has defended clients in class actions involving California meal and rest period claims, unpaid overtime, off-the-clock work, misclassification, and donning and doffing claims.
Additionally, Kai-Ching provides counseling and advice to employers on a wide variety of topics, including : Wage and hour issues, Harassment investigations, Terminations, and separation and release agreements, Disciplinary actions.
After graduating from law school, Kai-Ching was an associate for three years at a top ranked national corporate and securities law firm and worked in their Corporate and Employment Litigation departments. During law school, she was notes and comments editor of the Law Review.
