Karen Lin

Karen W. Lin is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Supreme Court & Appellate practice. She has significant experience representing clients at both the trial and appellate stages of litigation in product liability, privacy, financial, and other matters.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Karen served as an Assistant Solicitor General in the New York State Office of the Attorney General. During her tenure as an Assistant Solicitor General, she briefed and argued dozens of cases in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the New York Court of Appeals, and the New York Appellate Division.

Before that, she worked as a law clerk to Judge Pierre N. Leval of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and spent several years as a litigation associate at another prominent law firm in New York.

Karen received her JD from Columbia Law School, where she was Executive Managing Editor of the Law Review, a James Kent Scholar, and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She received prizes for her work in federal courts, international law, and advocacy, as well as the national Burton Award for Legal Achievement, which honors excellence in legal writing.
