Kathleen Campbell

Kathleen M. Campbell represents clients in arbitration proceedings and federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels in a variety of complex litigation matters. She thinks outside the box to develop efficient, cost-effective and successful litigation strategies and solutions.

Kathleen represents financial institutions and clients in the healthcare industry in a range of litigation matters. She has had frequent success obtaining dismissals of cases for clients on dispositive motions, but also has successfully negotiated favorable settlement agreements on behalf of clients both prior to and after the initiation of litigation.

In addition to serving as corporate defense counsel, Kathleen has considerable experience asserting breach of contract and business tort claims and counterclaims on behalf of clients.

She routinely manages discovery throughout litigation and is familiar with guiding both experienced and inexperienced clients through the discovery process as efficiently as possible.

As part of the discovery process, Kathleen is skilled in synthesizing large amounts of data and information in support of clients’ claims and defenses. Kathleen is diligent, thorough and responsive in service to her clients.

Representative Matters :

• Representing a foreign bank in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in an SEC receivership proceeding challenging the exercise of personal jurisdiction and an order freezing funds in a New York correspondent account.
• Defending several hospitals in class actions challenging the reasonableness of hospital liens under Georgia’s hospital lien statute.
• Advised financial institutions in loan default, workout, foreclosure and post-judgment collection proceedings throughout the country.
• Served as counsel to a national health insurance company in arbitration proceedings pending before JAMS and the American Health Lawyers Association involving claims asserted by and against a medical device provider.
• Defended a hospital against claims asserted by a national health system in connection with the system’s attempts to purchase the hospital.
