Kathleen M. Fox is a litigation associate with Foley & Lardner, LLP. Ms. Fox is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice. She maintains a broad civil ligation practice, including antitrust, white collar, insurance defense, internal investigations, and products liability.
Ms. Fox is experienced with all stages of civil litigation, in both state and federal court. She has experience managing cases with extensive electronic discovery and management of cases from the initial pleadings through the appellate process.
Ms. Fox has also represented clients at trial, including a four week breach of contract action in Silicon Valley and most recently a reinsurance arbitration in Washington D.C. returning a favorable decision for her client.
She has experience both deposing and presenting expert and fact witnesses in court. Ms. Fox has successfully represented multiple criminal defendants in state court for resentencing proceedings, obtaining reduced sentences and early release dates.
Ms. Fox also maintains an extensive pro bono practice. She has represented pro bono clients in both criminal and civil litigation at the state and federal level. For several years, Ms. Fox worked to obtain post-conviction sentencing relief for inmates sentenced under California’s Three Strikes Law.
Prior to joining Foley, Ms. Fox was an associate with a large international law firm in their San Francisco office.
Ms. Fox has completed internships for the Office of Greg Hands, Member of Parliament for Hammersmith and Fulham and the Sex Offense and Domestic Violence Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Ms. Fox completed her law degree from Stanford Law School (J.D., 2010), where she was awarded both the Thelton E. Henderson Prize for Outstanding Performance in Criminal Defense Clinic and the Gerald Gunter Prize for Outstanding Performance in White Collar Crime.
She served as a junior editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Reviewand president of the Stanford Public Interest Law Foundation. Ms. Fox also worked with the Stanford Three Strikes Project.
Ms. Fox received her undergraduate degree in philosophy and theology from the University of Notre Dame (B.A., summa cum laude, 2007). She received the Rev. Joseph H. Cavanaugh, C.S.C. Award for Excellence in Theology and graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
Ms. Fox served as president of The Shirt Project and was a research assistant at the Erasmus Institute.
Ms. Fox is admitted to practice in Illinois and California.
Ms. Fox served on the University of Notre Dame Board of Trustees from 2008-2011.
