
Katie Wood is special counsel in the Antitrust & Competition Practice Group in the firm’s Washington D.C. office. Ms. Wood has practiced antitrust and competition law in Washington, D.C. for the past fifteen years, concentrating on conduct and merger investigations before the United States Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission, and antitrust defense of private and government enforcement litigation in the federal courts.
Ms. Wood’s experience includes successful defense of mergers against government preliminary injunctions, including serving as a core constituent of the trial team defending Western Refining’s 2006 acquisition of Giant Industries, which proceeded from complaint through trial in 21 days and appeal in less than two weeks.
Ms. Wood also served a primary role on the litigation team defending the Twin America joint venture in antitrust enforcement litigation brought by the United States Department of Justice Antitrust Division and New York Attorney General. Ms. Wood has substantial experience litigating computer security, unfair competition, Lanham Act, and copyright infringement cases as well.
