Kayla S. Byers advises clients on a variety of environmental, energy and natural resources regulatory matters. Her experience includes working with clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including renewable energy, mining and recreation, and providing counseling on a variety of issues related to development on federal and private lands. Ms. Byers also assists clients in litigating matters before state and federal administrative bodies and courts.
Ms. Byers’ background includes counseling clients on all aspects of government contracts regulatory matters, including compliance, contract formation and subcontract agreements, contract performance issues and disputes, and the False Claims Act.
While in law school, Ms. Byers worked as a legal intern for Federal Magistrate Justice Kristen L. Mix, a legislative fellow in the Office of Senator Michael Johnston, and a law clerk in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. She also received the University of Colorado Law School Austin W. Scott Jr. Award for excellence in appellate advocacy.
