Kayvan Iradjpanah advises, represents and trains employers in various areas of employment and labor law, including : Class action litigation prevention and defense, Wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints, Disability accommodation and leaves of absence, Employee handbooks and personnel policies, Workers’ compensation.
As co-chair of Littler’s Emerging Technologies and Venture Capital Industry Group, Kayvan’s advice and counsel practice centers on technology startups throughout California. He works frequently with emerging growth companies, incubators, and accelerators on all aspects of the onboarding process.
Kayvan leads manager trainings, reviews employment agreements, drafts handbooks and advises on human resources decisions. Kayvan is also one of the founding architects of Littler X-celerator, the firm’s onboarding tool for tech startups.
Kayvan also works with many automotive dealerships and is highly experienced in helping them navigate California’s patchwork of wage and hour laws. More generally, his diverse mix of clients ranges from Fortune 500 companies and public entities to non-profit organizations, educational institutions and health care employers.
He dedicates a substantial portion of his practice to defending employers in wage and hour class action lawsuits and actions under the California Private Attorney General Act. He has successfully opposed motions for class certification, obtained favorable outcomes in a half dozen arbitrations and prevailed on many dispositive motions.
Prior to joining Littler, Kayvan served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Steven B. Berlin in the Office of Administrative Law Judges at the Department of Labor. He also served as an intern to the Hon. Daniel E. Leach and to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s legal department.
Previously, he worked as a counselor at the Legal Aid Society–Employment Law Center in San Francisco. In law school, he served on the board of the Employment and Labor Law Student Association and was Development Editor of the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review.
