Kelly Mihocik is a skilled appellate practitioner with experience defending large complex commercial cases in state and federal court and class actions. She has argued more than 30 cases in the Ohio courts of appeals, including several cases in the Ohio Supreme Court.
She often works on appellate teams to devise innovative strategies to achieve client goals. Her skills include briefing appeals from interlocutory orders and final judgments, as well as motions practice before the appellate courts.
Her broad experience prior to joining the firm includes work as a staff attorney for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and as a lawyer in the Ohio Public Defender’s Office. She understands high stakes situations, as her previous experience includes having moved successfully for a new trial resulting in the immediate release of a person serving life without the possibility of parole.
Clients find that her broad background contributes to her energetic approach to working collaboratively to achieve their goals and objectives, as she works as part of the trial team to devise the best trial strategy, whether it be pursuing aggressive pretrial motions practice or negotiating a settlement.
