Kelly Trout is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department and focuses her practice on complex business and commercial litigation on behalf of individuals and corporations. She has successfully litigated in federal and state courts in a variety of industries including software, insurance, construction, and gaming and entertainment, and on a wide range of issues, including breach of contract, breach of warranty, products liability, internal investigations, and fraud.
Kelly is involved in all aspects of litigation, from initial pleadings through discovery, motion practice, mediation, trial, and appeals. Kelly is committed to serving her community, representing clients on a pro bono basis in housing discrimination matters and clemency applications. Kelly earned her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of North Carolina.
While at Georgetown, Kelly was a member of the Georgetown Journal of Law & Modern Critical Race Perspectives and a legal intern for the Department of Education’s Office of Hearings and Appeals and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law’s Educational Opportunities Project. Prior to law school, Kelly was a Teach For America corps member in D.C. and government affairs associate for Teach For America’s national team.
