Ken Shevlin advises clients on a variety of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, secured financing, and commercial real estate matters, as well as general corporate issues. He has significant experience in asset deals, stock and membership interest purchase agreements, acquisition financing, and commercial real estate transactions, for clients in a wide range of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, retail, and healthcare.
He is well practiced in portfolio transactions in the senior healthcare industry. Ken enjoys helping clients manage the nuances of these critical deals, strategizing on negotiations and navigating the process while mitigating business risk at closing and beyond.
Prior to joining Williams Mullen, he was an associate in the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he worked on large secured lending transactions. He also previously clerked for Judge Norman K. Moon of the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Ken earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a Hardy Cross Dillard Scholar, served as editor-in-chief of the Virginia Environmental Law Journal and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He holds an M.Phil. in political thought and intellectual history from the University of Cambridge and a B.A. in political science, cum laude, from Yale.
Ken is a member of the board of directors of the Piedmont Housing Alliance, secretary of the board of directors of The Paramount Theater and was co-chair of the Urban Land Institute Charlottesville Young Leaders Group from 2016-2017.
