Since 1975, Kenneth R. Allen has served clients worldwide from the legacy Townsend firm’s Silicon Valley offices, focusing his practice on high technology patent prosecution and counseling for entrepreneurs and emerging companies. For many years Mr. Allen chaired Townsend’s partner nominating committee.
Mr. Allen has represented U.S. and international clients in procuring hundreds of patents in telecommunications, networking, MEMS, wireless systems, miniature test systems, satellite communication and satellite control systems, nonlinear optics, lasers, medical instrumentation, medical devices, speech recognition, character recognition, artificial intelligence, expert systems, computer architecture, PV solar, radar, microwave systems, digital signal processing and software based systems and methodologies, as well as fundamental inventions of applied physics.
Mr. Allen’s articles on technology and patent law have been in newspapers and professional magazines, including IEEE Spectrum, IEEE Transactions on Professional Communications and Intellectual Property Today. Mr. Allen and his wife are currently doing volunteer work in St. Petersburg, Russia, returning to California in March 2019.
