Kenneth W. Sheffield is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rutgers College (Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in Spanish.
After working in the Drug Regulatory Affairs department of a major pharmaceutical company, Ken received a scholarship to attend law school at the University of Arizona. During his time there he interned with the Pima County Attorney’s Office in both the Sex Crimes Unit and misdemeanor unit.
After graduation, Ken started his defense career as an Advocate Attorney with the Tohono O’Odham Nation in Sells. He proudly represented tribal members charged with crimes for three and one-half years before accepting a position as a Prosecutor with the Yuma County Attorney’s Office.
While in Yuma, Ken was a member of the Organized Crime Unit-prosecuting major felonies and serving as the office’s liason with a multi-agency task force devoted to child and sexual assault victims. Ken wrote the office protocol for prosecuting sexual offense cases, and was nominated for an award for victim sensitivity and received commendation from the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.
A resident of Coconino County since 2003, Ken worked for almost two years as a prosecutor for the County Attorney’s Office. Ken returned to criminal and DUI defense full-time in 2005, opening his own office dedicated to quality personal representation at affordable prices.
Ken also continued his interest in helping children and families in the community by working in the juvenile delinquency and dependency areas as well. Ken is available after hours and on weekends by appointment.
