Kerri M. Patterson is a member of Venable’s Patent Prosecution and Counseling Group in San Francisco. Her practice focuses on patent prosecution, counseling, and due diligence in the areas of organic chemistry, medical devices, pharmaceuticals including compositions, methods of making, and methods of use, biomolecules including compositions, methods of making, and methods of use, materials, telecommunications, mechanical devices, batteries, and semiconductor fabrication and design.
She also has also participated in several AIA inter partes review proceedings before the PTAB, representing both petitioners and patent owners, and has experience with patent litigation in district courts and investigations before the International Trade Commission.
Kerri has experience in many phases of litigation, including initial case assessment, discovery, claim construction, and working with experts.
Kerri graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, she served as an articles editor for The Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Randolph F. Treece in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.
Prior to attending law school, Kerri worked in both clinical development and analytical research for a large Japanese drug development company in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and as an analytical chemist for a medical device company.
