Kevin L. Bastian has been with the firm for more than 20 years and focuses his practice on various areas of intellectual property law with clients ranging from academic institutions to large pharmaceutical companies.
He has counseled clients and prosecuted patents in many technical areas including immunology, plant molecular biology, glycobiology, cell cycle regulation and drug discovery.
He regularly assists clients with patent portfolio management, patent prosecution, interference strategy, due diligence reviews, freedom to operate analyses, validity and infringement opinions and technology licensing.
Mr. Bastian has held a position as a researcher at Arco’s Plant Cell Research Institute in Dublin, California and as a biologist at the Marine Research Center in Emeryville, California.
