Kevin J. Shehan is a labor and employment attorney at Tully Rinckey PLLC who represents private sector employers and federal government employees. In his private sector practice, Kevin defends employers against claims of discrimination and harassment, wage and hour claims, including collective and class actions, unfair labor practice charges, WARN Act claims and other employment-related claims.
Kevin also advises employers on day-to-day workplace issues and drafts employment agreements and policies. Apart from his private sector practice, Kevin fights for the rights of federal employees facing discrimination and harassment, prohibited personnel practices, allegations of unethical conduct, and those in need of whistleblower and other protections.
Kevin has extensive litigation experience. He regularly represents clients before New York federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and in arbitration and mediation. Before he joined Tully Rinckey PLLC, Kevin practiced at a New York City law firm representing employers in labor and employment matters.
He served previously as a law clerk to the Honorable Monique J. Roberts, Administrative Judge, at the New York District Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He also served previously as an in-house counsel to the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C., working primarily on employment matters.
Kevin is a member of the American Bar Association, Section of Labor and Employment Law and a member of the New York State Bar Association. From 2007 to 2012, Kevin was an adjunct professor at George Mason University School of Law, where he taught appellate and trial writing and lectured on selected topics, including damages and injunctions.
Kevin received his law degree from George Mason University School of Law, where he was an editor of the George Mason Law Review. He received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Albion College.
