Lack of understanding
Maybe you don’t understand how settlements work. Once you receive a settlement, that usually becomes a public record. Doctors looking to get paid scroll for settlements they don’t know about and then will put a lien on the amount to get paid. If you haven’t struck a deal beforehand, they’ll take the full amount. My daughter received $140,000 from a car accident and by the state her insurance company and the doctors took their cut as well as the attorney she was left with $500. That’s the way it works unless you have struck deals beforehand. Attorneys have to give reports to the court so if there was any wrong doing on his part, the court or the Bar would have said something. If he refused to pay your bills, he could face sanctions and then you’d have a new lawsuit from them suing you to get paid PLUS the costs of the lawsuit. So while you’re bashing this guy, sounds like you just are mad you didn’t get away with ripping off your doctor’s. And THAT’S why they scan court cases for settlements.
