Kevin M. Tepas is primarily engaged in the litigation of professional negligence lawsuits as well as related administrative hearings.
Kevin’s practice currently focuses on the defense of medical care providers in personal injury and wrongful death cases and administrative hearings before State Board of Medical Examiners.
Kevin has enjoyed a diverse practice in all areas of personal injury litigation including legal malpractice, accounting malpractice, products liability, motor vehicle accidents involving both commercial and private passenger vehicles, wrongful death, unfair trade practice matters, and premises liability. He also has experience in first party coverage claims and business contract litigation.
Kevin is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). The ACTL is composed of the best of the trial bar in the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the ACTL is extended by invitation to only those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose careers have been marked by the highest ethical standards, professionalism and civility. Fellowship is limited to 1% of the Bar and Fellows must have a minimum of 15 years of experience.
Kevin started his legal career defending criminal cases as an Area Defense Counsel in the Air Force JAG Corp. Kevin has tried a large number of jury cases to verdict in state and federal courts in Connecticut, and boasts a significant win rate.
Kevin has also successfully argued appeals before the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Connecticut Supreme Court as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Kevin has been a seminar speaker on topics pertaining to civil practice and procedure including the role of expert witnesses in a civil trial. He also has served as a Special Master for the Superior Court for several years and also as a Federal Special Master.
