Originally from South Jordan, Utah attorney Kevin Kemp earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Utah.
Mr. Kemp has nearly ten years of professional experience after working in the research and development division of Michelin North America, the retail side of Bridgestone Firestone Retail & Commercial Operations, and as an outside salesman for the parts department at Gus Paulos Chevrolet.
During the economic recession in 2008, with the encouragement of his family and friends, Mr. Kemp finally decided to pursue his childhood dream of helping others as an attorney. In August 2009, Mr. Kemp and his family moved to Topeka, Kansas to attend law school.
Kevin graduated with Dean’s Honors from Washburn University School of Law in December 2011. As a student, he was appointed to the Honor Code Committee by the faculty. In 2012, he and his partner took fourth place at the national competition in New Orleans, Louisiana. During his final year of law school, Mr. Kemp served as an English/Spanish translator for the Washburn University Law Clinic.
While a student, Mr. Kemp decided to enhance his education with hands-on experience. He worked as a law clerk for South Jordan City, gaining experience under the supervision of the Assistant City Attorney and the City Prosecutor.
He was also an intern for the Solicitor General in the Kansas Office of the Attorney General during his second year of law school. Based on his coursework and practical experience as a student, he was awarded a Certificate in Advocacy at graduation.
Immediately before coming to Pearson Butler, Mr. Kemp had his own law practice which focused on criminal defense, family law cases including adoptions and child support issues, small business representation, and general civil litigation.
Before opening his own practice in 2014, Mr. Kemp worked as an associate attorney with the Zabriskie Law Firm in Provo, Utah, where he represented thousands of clients facing criminal charges throughout the State of Utah.
