Killa Ixchel Marti

Born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Killa first came to the US in 2004 as a student. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Minor in Economics from Augsburg College, in Minneapolis, MN.

Following a year-long employment contract in Changchun, China, Killa returned to the US to pursue her law degree at Hamline University School of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law) with the clear objective of pursuing a career in Immigration law. Throughout her law school career, Killa took every opportunity through serve immigrant populations.

She completed a clinic program at the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, volunteered at Civil Society, a non-profit assisting victims of trafficking, and did a practicum at the immigration firm of Contreras Edin & Associates. Killa also represented Hamline at the 2011 Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court competition in Washington, DC.

Upon graduation, Killa accepted a position at the firm of Cole & Vondra, PLLC in Iowa City, where she got the opportunity to litigate in the Immigration Courts of Omaha, NE and Chicago, IL, as well as represent clients in state criminal courts in Iowa.

For the last three years, she has been living in Georgia and helping start the Immigration Services Program at Lutheran Services of Georgia a non-profit that serves refugees and other vulnerable, immigrant populations. Now, Killa is excited to continue to serve the immigrant community and pursue new challenges at Solano Law Firm. Killa is barred in Iowa and Georgia.
