Kwame A. Benjamin is a partner in the Real Estate Department of Seyfarth Shaw, and is the leader of the Atlanta office’s Real Estate team. His practice focuses on commercial real estate matters. He represents clients in all facets of transactions involving the leasing, acquisition, disposition, financing and development of commercial real estate, including multi-family, retail, office and industrial assets.
Mr. Benjamin has extensive experience representing clients with respect to office, industrial and retail leasing matters, including the structure of transactions and the negotiation of leases, and he assists clients with ongoing landlord/tenant issues and other asset and property management matters.
In addition, Mr. Benjamin represents commercial real estate developers, owners of multi-family projects, and owners and tenants of retail projects, including Big Box retailers, with respect to the acquisition, leasing, financing, development, operation and, ultimately, sale of properties across the United States. His practice encompasses the representation of construction, bridge and permanent lenders making loans secured by commercial real estate.
Mr. Benjamin’s real estate practice is enhanced by his experience assisting both secured and unsecured creditors with the defense of their rights in bankruptcy proceedings as well as his representation of lenders in connection with loan work-out transactions. Mr. Benjamin serves on the firm’s Lawyer Development Committee.
