Kyle Wingfield focuses his practice on tax controversy matters. He advises corporate and individual clients on a variety of substantive and procedural issues during examination and audits. Kyle is also experienced in handling administrative appeals and contesting disputes in court with the Internal Revenue Service and Virginia Department of Taxation, and he also regularly assists clients in making voluntary disclosures to taxing authorities.
He has significant experience advising on complex state and local tax issues. In addition to tax controversy matters, Kyle frequently advises clients on acquisitions involving state income, franchise, sale, use, and property tax planning.
Kyle currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Virginia State Bar Tax Section and is a past board member of the Community Tax Law Project in Richmond. He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center (2009) and is a graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law (2008) and the University of Virginia (1998).
