Larry Avallone began his professional career in 1994, after being sworn in as a Volusia County Deputy Sheriff. Larry spent 10 years serving the citizens of Volusia County as a Deputy. He worked as a patrol deputy, as a school resource officer, and as a courtroom bailiff.
Larry has investigated hundreds of crime scenes, made arrests, and had to testify in court as a law enforcement officer.
While working as a Deputy Sheriff, Larry obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Warner University and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. During his assignment as a courtroom bailiff, Larry decided that the practice of law was his calling. So, in 2003, Larry left the Sheriff’s Office to attend law school.

As a State Prosecutor, Larry’s first assignment was as a County Court trial attorney where he conducted 35 jury and non-jury trials, on such crimes as driving under the influence (DUI), domestic battery, domestic assault, theft, and other misdemeanors.
Later, Larry was assigned to the Circuit Court as a felony state prosecutor. In this time, Larry was assigned to the drug trafficking unit and then later to the career criminal unit.
