Laura Donovan is a senior staff attorney in the firm’s WilmerHale Discovery Solutions department, focused on substantive and strategic areas of discovery for Litigation Controversy matters. She joined the firm in 2011.
Ms. Donovan focuses her practice on issues of e-discovery. Specifically, she works with other attorneys, litigation support coordinators, and paralegals in order to provide efficient and cost effective discovery in litigations and investigations.
Staff attorneys on these teams manage matters to create smarter document review processes through strategic and tactical work from preservation to collection and through review and production. In this role they utilize the firm’s internal review software as well as e-discovery vendors’ review and analytical tools.
Ms. Donovan has experience in all aspects of civil litigation in federal and state courts, including arguing pre-trial motions, responding to discovery requests and drafting pleadings and motions.
She has also performed Spanish language document review to identify potentially privileged and responsive documents relating to a government investigation under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. In addition, she has drafted pleadings and motions in an interpleader action filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
While in law school, Ms. Donovan was a research fellow for the research and writing program. In 2007, she held a legal internship with the Department of the Interior, Division of Indian Affairs in Washington DC.
