Ms. Lauren Brier is an Associate Attorney with The Federal Practice Group and focuses her practice on federal government contracting. Ms. Brier counsels and represents government contractors in solicitation review, bid protests, terminations, contract disputes, constructive change claims, multiple award schedule contracting, suspension and debarment proceedings, mandatory disclosures, alternative dispute resolution, base ineligibility challenges, False Claims Act actions, and a wide variety of other issues under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Contract Dispute Act (CDA).

Ms. Brier specializes in solving the unique and dynamic problems business entities confront who operate abroad and, in particular, operational environments.

Her representative experience includes:

  • Litigating complex claims/appeals for international contractors under the CDA seeking monetary relief from procuring agencies at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the various boards of contract appeals.
  • Litigating bid protests at the Government Accountability Offices (GAO), U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and at the government agency level.
  • Representing subcontractors in claims and disputes against prime contractors and the federal government.
  • Defending clients in Department of Justice (DOJ) and inspector general investigations and suspension and debarment proceedings.
  • Representing clients in requests for U.S. military and coalition installation access eligibility.
  • Negotiating and drafting teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, proposals, and other contract language for contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Counseling international clients on U.S. regulatory impacts and business safeguard procedures.
  • Engaging in alternative dispute resolution before the International Centre for Dispute Resolution and the various boards of contract appeals.

Before joining The Federal Practice Group, Ms. Brier served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas G. Parisi of the Berks County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania.

Ms. Brier received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the Pennsylvania State University in 2008, where she graduated with high distinction. She received her Juris Doctorate from Widener University – Delaware Law School in Wilmington, Delaware in 2013, where she graduated magna cum laude.

While at Widener Law, Ms. Brier was an active participant in many societies and organizations, including the Widener Law Review where she served as the Articles Editor. Ms. Brier also participated in the Widener Law – Judicial Externship Program, where she served as a student law clerk for the Honorable R. Barclay Surrick of the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
