Lauren E. Meyerholz defends companies in class action and single plaintiff wage and hour lawsuits under California, Colorado and federal law. She has experience litigating a wide variety of wage and hour claims, such as claims of misclassification and for unpaid wages, off-the-clock work, meal and rest break penalties, and expense reimbursement.
She has assisted clients throughout all stages of litigation, including entering into early settlement, successfully defeating class certification in wage-and-hour class actions, and trial.
She also represents companies in single and multi-plaintiff lawsuits alleging discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Lauren has handled both government agency charges and government audits for her clients.
Lauren has extensive experience advising companies on these and other labor and employment issues, including employee terminations, workplace investigations, compensation practices, background checks, performance management and exempt/non-exempt classification.
She understands the legal challenges facing technology companies, particularly those based on shared economy platforms, and advises these clients regarding independent contractor classification and policy implementation, as well as business structure. She was named a Robertson Scholar at Duke University.
