Lauren Kuley is an experienced appellate practitioner and leads successful motions practice in complex litigation. She has argued and won appeals in federal and state appellate courts. She has successfully petitioned for review in the US Supreme Court and led the merits briefing team in obtaining an 8-0 reversal for a Fortune 500 company.
She also has obtained dismissal of high-stakes putative class action claims and federal RICO claims. Lauren serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law where she teaches the Sixth Circuit Clinic and represents indigent individuals.
Prior to joining Squire Patton Boggs, Lauren was a law clerk to The Honorable Judge Karen Nelson Moore of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
After clerking, Lauren served as the Simon Karas Fellow in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. In that position, she assisted the Ohio Solicitor General in representing the state on appeal, writing appellate briefs and evaluating possible appeals. She also argued before the Ohio Supreme Court and the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, winning unanimous decisions for the state in both cases.
