Leonard Brazil joined Clark & Trevithick in 1983 where he is a principal in the litigation and employment departments with extensive experience in federal and state courts. Leonard’s litigation practice is primarily in the areas of employment law and unfair competition.
He is a seasoned trial attorney with the willingness and courtroom skills to try the case before a judge or jury if the opponent refuses all reasonable settlement efforts. A proactive approach also is taken to avoid employment claims by providing companies with substantial advice and counsel in such areas as compliance with wage and hour laws, establishing and enforcing employment policies and procedures, and assisting in pre-termination evaluations.
Leonard also performs employment audits by conducting an extensive review of an employer’s personnel practices and procedures to identify any violations of federal and state employment laws. Additionally, he is an active lecturer on a variety of employment topics.
While in law school he was the recipient of the Judge William M. Bryne, Sr. Trial Advocacy Award and a member of the National Trial Advocacy Team.
Leonard is actively involved in the American Business Trial Lawyers Association, a member of the Employment Section of the Los Angeles County Bar, and a past chairman of the Community Advisory Committee for Special Education for the West San Gabriel Valley School Districts. He has also served as a Special Olympics Coach and is past treasurer of a fundraising division of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
