Lesley Sachs’ litigation practice encompasses commercial civil disputes, complex civil litigation, government investigations and white collar criminal defense. Lesley also represents senior management and employees of global corporations in enforcement and criminal matters and she frequently conducts internal investigations and due diligence for domestic and global clients.
Such matters have included allegations of, among other things, FCPA violations, healthcare fraud, qui tam and False Claims Act actions and US export and sanctions violations. Lesley has acted as counsel to the independent monitor for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US LLC appointed by the Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
She has experience advising the automotive industry on federal Safety Act compliance with particular focus on vehicle safety investigations, safety defect determination,and vehicle and component recalls. Lesley also supported the independent monitor appointed by the US Department of Education to oversee Zenith Education Group following its acquisition of the former Corinthian Colleges.
In this role, Lesley evaluated the enrollment practices of for-profit colleges for compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, accrediting institutions, and Consent Order conduct provisions. Prior to attending law school, Lesley was a senior consultant in the federal government practice of IBM Business Consulting Services.
As a consultant, Lesley advised federal government agencies on finance, budgeting and operational improvement matters. While attending law school, she interned with the Federal Communications Commission and clerked with the FCC’s Office of the Commissioner.
