Throughout the employment cycle, Leslie Basque partners with employers to develop practical solutions to both common and complex issues. Leslie is prepared to answer all of employers’ legal questions.
She offers guidance on human resources issues such as employment agreements and restrictive covenants, personnel policies, discipline/discharge decisions, severance agreements, and leave and accommodation concerns. She also assists with workplace investigations and litigation prevention strategies.
Leslie has experience litigating employment disputes in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies, including claims related to discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour, and family and medical leave.
Leslie is a frequent contributor to the firm’s industry blogs. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Marcia A. Crone, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas.
Drafted motions for summary judgment for nine counts in defense of healthcare whistleblower retaliation suit. Won summary judgment for eight counts; the ninth was awarded to client in court.
Drafted effective position statements in response to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) claims, helping avoid costly litigation.
