
Lisa King is a Senior Council at Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Albany office, Lisa focuses her practice on labor and employment law. She represents clients in matters including discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hour disputes, prohibited personnel actions, disciplinary hearings, adverse job actions, whistleblower claims, retaliation claims and disability claims.
She is able to represent clients before the New York State Division of Human Rights, the state Department of Labor, the state Unemployment Insurance Board, the state Workers’ Compensation Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as all state and federal district courts, the United States Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Prior to joining Tully Rinckey PLLC, Lisa served as counsel for the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) for 26 years. She worked her way up from Associate Counsel to General Counsel, where she managed and supervised the union’s in-house legal and administrative staff.
As General Counsel, Lisa provided legal advice to elected PEF leaders, directors, field representatives and individual union members on a wide range of matters relating to labor and employment law. Lisa received her juris doctorate from Cornell Law School, and she earned her bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
She also provided legal advice and representation to PEF in its capacity as employer of 130 professional and administrative staff, and she provided advice and representation to the union in matters relating to leases, hotel contracts and individual consulting contracts. She retired from public service in 2017.
