When she was young, family and friends would tell Lori Lohr Smith that she should become a lawyer because she was good at analyzing details, choosing a position, and arguing it vigorously. They were right.
Today, Lori is a valued member of the Marks & Harrison legal team, fighting for clients in motor vehicle accidents, truck accidents, premises liability, dog bites and a broad range of other personal injury and wrongful death matters.
A Chesterfield native, Lori attended Meadowbrook High School. She then earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
She went on to graduate from the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law and E. Claiborne Robins School of Business, where she earned her Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Administration degrees in three years, instead of four.
For more than 12 years, Lori practiced law on the defense side, including defense of personal injury cases. Most recently before joining Marks & Harrison, Lori worked for The Hartford Insurance Company, defending personal injury cases.
She brought the insights she gained as a defense attorney and employee of an insurance company to Marks & Harrison in 2011, where she focuses her practice exclusively on representing injured plaintiffs.
She uses her insurance defense experience in seeking to achieve the best possible outcome for her injured clients, especially during settlement negotiations.
