Louisa Weix is a member of the Firm’s insurance practice. Since 2009 she has represented professional liability insurers in connection with technology, media, cyber, and privacy claims. Before focusing on insurance, Louisa spent twelve years representing clients in significant intellectual property, unfair competition, and privacy lawsuits in state and federal courts and in International Trade Commission proceedings.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Louisa worked as a chemist and instrumentation specialist and trainer. Louisa’s background allows her to advise and assist insurers in connection with technical and intellectual property claims both as to the coverage issues presented and the defense and strategy of the underlying claim.
Louisa is admitted to practice in the State of California and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Eastern Districts of California. Louisa is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.
