Lucas Rezende has represented clients in a broad range of legal matters. Multilingual and bicultural, this world citizen has practiced law in New York and in Brazil. He has successfully represented clients in U.S. Immigration Courts and in New York Supreme Court, Civil Court, Criminal Court, Housing Court, and Family Court.
Prior to founding Rezende Law, P.C., Lucas Rezende was an Adjunct Professor of Law for four years at St. John’s University, in New York, where he taught Comparative Law (Summer 2013, 2015, 2016), Comparative Legal Systems (Spring 2014, 2015, 2016), Introduction to U.S. Law (Spring 2014, Fall 2016), and Legal Research, Analysis, and Writing (Spring 2013, 2014 and Fall 2013, 2014, 2015).
In 2015, he rose to become the director of the Master of Laws (LL.M.) Program in U.S. Legal Studies, which has had attorneys from over 50 countries.
Lucas Rezende earned the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for graduating with the highest GPA in the Master of Laws in U.S. Legal Studies from St. John’s. In Brazil, he started practicing law after graduating from one of the highest ranked law schools in South America.
A born traveler, Lucas Rezende has directed law school study abroad programs to Italy, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, and Israel, which included visits to legal institutions and meetings with lawyers, professors, government officials, and Supreme Court justices.
He also met with Pope Francis in the Vatican during a private audience that marked the start of a two-day conference on International Religious Freedom.
