
Lucy Brierly Bansal is an associate at Outten & Golden and a member of the firm’s Class & Collective Action Practice Group in Washington, D.C. Before joining O&G in 2017, Ms. Bansal practiced at a law firm in Silver Spring, Maryland, where she represented low-wage workers in individual and collective actions involving wage theft and employment discrimination.
Ms. Bansal received her B.A. from McGill University in 2011, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2014. During law school, Ms. Bansal received the Benjamin R. Civiletti Leadership Scholarship and served as President of the University of Maryland chapter of the Women’s Bar Association.
Ms. Bansal was an editor of the University of Maryland Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender and Class, which published her 2013 article, A Lawyer for John Doe: Alternative Models for Representing Maryland’s Middle Class.
In 2013, Ms. Bansal was selected as a law fellow for the NAACP, where she worked in the Office of General Counsel on civil rights policy and advocacy. From 2012 to 2013, Ms. Bansal worked as a student attorney in the University of Maryland’s Civil Rights of Persons with Disabilities legal clinic, assisting in civil rights litigation on behalf of the National Association of the Deaf.
