Luis Munoz holds a law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he served as a member of the St. Mary’s Law Journal. While in law school, Luis competed in several moot court competitions, and won the Ralph G. Langley Best Brief Award and the St. Mary’s Law Journal Staff Writer Excellence Award.
Luis has served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Phylis Speedlin at the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals and for the Honorable J. Scott Hacker at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Luis holds a Master of Science degree in journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in economics and political science from the University of Rochester.
After graduating from college, Luis joined Teach for America, the acclaimed national service corps dedicated to closing the educational achievement gap within minority communities to ensure that kids attending under-resourced schools get an excellent education. He taught fifth grade in Miami’s Little Haiti.
Luis has also worked as an investigative journalist with the Univision national news network. Luis is a native of Del Rio, Texas.
